Mission & Values

At SAAH Rise, we recognize that empowerment is a deeply gendered process shaped by intersecting structures of patriarchy, tradition, and social expectations. Women navigating these systems often encounter significant barriers, just as men who resist hegemonic norms of masculinity face marginalization for deviating from socially constructed gender roles. Our mission is to create a rights-based, inclusive, and transformative space where individuals of all genders can assert their identities, engage in advocacy, foster critical awareness, share narratives of resistance and healing, and cultivate leadership.
Our work centers the experiences of rural women from conservative contexts who have subverted restrictive gender norms and redefined agency on their own terms. We also seek to acknowledge the gendered labor of mothers who actively enable their daughters’ empowerment, as well as the support of brothers, fathers, and partners — affirming that gender justice is a collective project requiring the participation of all genders.
Furthermore, we are committed to amplifying the voices of transgender and gender-diverse individuals whose legal recognition does not translate into substantive rights. Through storytelling, advocacy, and solidarity, we aim to dismantle exclusionary structures and advance a vision of gender equality grounded in intersectionality, inclusivity, and social transformation.
