As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting women’s leadership and social awareness, Saah Rise carried out a small advocacy campaign in Islamabad to raise awareness about Aurat March and the broader message of women’s resistance, leadership, and equality.
During this initiative, members of Team Saah Rise visited different public spaces and universities across Islamabad to engage with students and young people. The team also conducted a door-to-door awareness campaign, encouraging open conversations about women’s rights, leadership, and the importance of civic engagement. The purpose of the campaign was not political mobilization but rather to celebrate the spirit of women’s resilience and leadership and to create awareness among youth about the significance of collective voices in advocating gender equality.
As activists and students who have dedicated their academic and professional journeys to promoting women’s empowerment, the members of Saah Rise believe that awareness and dialogue are essential for building a more inclusive society. The campaign therefore focused on peaceful engagement, discussion, and community outreach.
At the same time, Team Saah Rise recognizes that certain incidents and consequences occurred during the Aurat March that led to controversy and public concern. The organization clarifies that it does not support or endorse any actions that may have created conflict or disorder. The team strongly condemns the brutal arrest or mistreatment of women, as dignity and respect are fundamental principles of any democratic and humane society.
However, Saah Rise also deeply respects the decisions of the state and the responsibilities of security forces in maintaining public order. The organization believes that dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful civic participation are the most constructive ways to address social issues.
